Food near the Ballpark

This morning, I called Izzy’s Brooklyn Bagels at Townsend and 2nd to see if they were open as we were having a bagel craving for breakfast, and surprise, surprise… it was open! That’s right, we now have pretty good bagels available seven days a week, and it’s only a 5 minute walk away.

In other news, we’re continuing our boycott of Momo’s – a six dollar pint of beer is just taking the piss. Five dollars for a house made beer at 21st Amendment is crazy enough – but Momo’s wants to extract every dime from people coming to see the game. If you want the neighborhood’s business, you need to bring your prices in line with what the locals can afford on a regular basis. I’ll take my business to the Hotel Utah or The Brickhouse.

Later this month, at 3rd and Townsend, Los Socios will open a branch of their Cal-Mex restaurant. I love Victor’s on Townsend foor a quick burrito, but I am looking forward to having access to decent burritos after 4pm. When Tres Agaves opens in a few months, we’l have an interesting mix of Mexican just steps from the apartment. All we need is a great Japanese place and we’ll be set.
